HERE IN KENYA

well, hello people....i could not believe the election!!!! what a great time in history, right? well, if you think people in america are happy. you have no idea how happy people are here in kenya!!! they had a national holiday because of the results!!!! all students were out of school. which meant that the children that my mission group and i are helping and interacting with were out of school too.

in local markets there obama shirts and people are constantly asking you if you voted and who for. if you say obama, they imediately get very excited.....i kind of wish that i had brought some obama campaign stuff cause i could have traded that for some of the things in the market that i wanted. instead of paying 2,500 shillings for a painting. however, it's really interesting how the rest of the world is so engrosed with our politics but of course they know that whoever becomes president next will effect trade and other international and foreign affairs interactions.

one thing i do have to say the trees here are the most beautiful you'll see(here in nairobi cause that's where i am). they all look like or atleast the landscape looks like something out of the lion king. i was sure to take plenty of pictures; so they will be uploaded as soon as a get home, which will be next monday. i still have more pictures to take cause i will be going on a safari drive and i want to video lions(or lionesses(if i spelled that right))hunting, which should be great. it also rained here really bad, i mean the rain is like a giant bucket being dropped. so, the roads are terrible outside of the city because they are all dirt roads and the rides are ridiculously bumpy. so, now that it has rained...well, yesterday it rained and everyone in the mission group that i'm travelling with had to get out of the bus and pull and push the bus. huge clumps of mud around our feet. a coupleof times i thought that i was going to fall in the mud cause my fet kept slipping and to make it even worse the bus stop in a game reserve. so, it was morning in a game reserve and feasting time was on its way. we looked like little mashmellows struggling across the plain but we got the bus inside of the orphanage, eventually. last night it rained again and now the roads are even more wet because of the accumilation; i'm sitting in the lobby of the hilltop hotel in nairobi, kenya and it is 7:57 a.m. eventhough, it says that this draft was autosaved at 9:56 p.m. that is so funny and yet cool cause i know that my fam back in the states are asleep or watching t.v. but they're probably sleep cause they still have school tomorrow cause it is not yet friday.

which means that i have missed smallville and i will have to catch up on it if my fam has remembered to record it for me and if not there is some website that i can go to to see the episode. well, right now everyone is haulling big bags of things to the bus for the kids. you know clothing, medicine, candy, toys and shoes and other things. what am i doing telling you all about it instead of helping......LOL!!!!! naw, but i did work yesterday and i will continue until it's done...... cause someone is going to come and make me eventually.=)
