back in the states
Well, i'm back here in "obama country" and i've been m.i.a. from work for 4 days due to a cold i got from being exposed to ridiculous rain showers. however, i'm not going to say that i didn't have fun cause i did. i mean i had extreme fun; i even had the STRONG FEELING to come up with ideas how to raise more money for a trip back to nairobi next fall. i loved all the people i went with to....which is kind of odd for me but i really miss them now.......booowhooooo, but i will email them and i just want to go next fall. i'm even ready to push back educational plans to the spring to go in the fall. i start work back monday and i'm ready for it.

HERE IN KENYA
in local markets there obama shirts and people are constantly asking you if you voted and who for. if you say obama, they imediately get very excited.....i kind of wish that i had brought some obama campaign stuff cause i could have traded that for some of the things in the market that i wanted. instead of paying 2,500 shillings for a painting. however, it's really interesting how the rest of the world is so engrosed with our politics but of course they know that whoever becomes president next will effect trade and other international and foreign affairs interactions.
one thing i do have to say the trees here are the most beautiful you'll see(here in nairobi cause that's where i am). they all look like or atleast the landscape looks like something out of the lion king. i was sure to take plenty of pictures; so they will be uploaded as soon as a get home, which will be next monday. i still have more pictures to take cause i will be going on a safari drive and i want to video lions(or lionesses(if i spelled that right))hunting, which should be great. it also rained here really bad, i mean the rain is like a giant bucket being dropped. so, the roads are terrible outside of the city because they are all dirt roads and the rides are ridiculously bumpy. so, now that it has rained...well, yesterday it rained and everyone in the mission group that i'm travelling with had to get out of the bus and pull and push the bus. huge clumps of mud around our feet. a coupleof times i thought that i was going to fall in the mud cause my fet kept slipping and to make it even worse the bus stop in a game reserve. so, it was morning in a game reserve and feasting time was on its way. we looked like little mashmellows struggling across the plain but we got the bus inside of the orphanage, eventually. last night it rained again and now the roads are even more wet because of the accumilation; i'm sitting in the lobby of the hilltop hotel in nairobi, kenya and it is 7:57 a.m. eventhough, it says that this draft was autosaved at 9:56 p.m. that is so funny and yet cool cause i know that my fam back in the states are asleep or watching t.v. but they're probably sleep cause they still have school tomorrow cause it is not yet friday.
which means that i have missed smallville and i will have to catch up on it if my fam has remembered to record it for me and if not there is some website that i can go to to see the episode. well, right now everyone is haulling big bags of things to the bus for the kids. you know clothing, medicine, candy, toys and shoes and other things. what am i doing telling you all about it instead of helping......LOL!!!!! naw, but i did work yesterday and i will continue until it's done...... cause someone is going to come and make me eventually.=)

PLEASE HELP STUDENTS GO TO AFRICA!!!!!

hello fello bloggers,
i would like to call you to arms to help assist a community service group in Saint Lous, Missouri.
there is like i mentioned a community service group named Project Badili at Imagine College Prep High School. the high school is new compared to its mumble beginnings as a glove factory for over a hundred years.
besides that the group consisting of merely high schools and three sponsers managed to raise 23,000 dollars for a service trip to Africa with the Heart For Africa foundation.
All last school year and this summer the members of Project Badili participated in numerous community service projects such as Relay For Life and Dance Marathon, which both of which were held last year at Washington University(in St. Louis)and helped Children's Mercy Hospital for cancer research; also, they took part in Food Pantry, a grocery store like building that provides food for AIDS victims and Salvation Army's Homeless Shelter, which does pretty much exactly what it says with the addtioin thaty it has an area for the homeless to sleep and live for a short while during rehabilitation. To name just one more thing the members had the fine pleasure in being tutors to African refugees that are children, on a more personal light one child individually, Jean Bosco, helped a member of Badili open up to children and learn the joy of teaching a kid new things that they can really use in they're lives.
Please help these students have worked so hard and they're so close to going; all they need is 5,000 more dollars. the service trip is scheduled for October 31 -November 10,2008.
Any donations would be very helpful and enormously appreciated=)
if you do want to make a donation please send me a comment about your interest in donating and or email me:ebmarie@att.net
also, please leave your name and email.
thanks so much and please tell others that can help all donations count.
thanks a lot!!!! bye.=)

Boy...I Love the Beattles!!!!=)

I just saw Across the Universe and i have to say that movie was great. i enjoyed it like no other, fantastic songs(courtesy of the Beattles),dance numbers, singing(the cast is great,at times Jim(Jude)sounded like John Lennon and Joe(Max) sounded like Kurt Cobain and in ways. He actually looks like him to, and visual effects. Costumes and settings along with atmosphere was phenomenal;once again i wanted to be in the 60's,taking part in one of the most influential times in american(civil rights),world(vitnam war) and musical history(british invasion and other musical influences such as the Doors). Again great movie.....
also, i usually don't say this is like this but Joe Anderson is....well, i don't know wther to say hot, cute, handsome, good looking to sound more conservative but whatever the adjective. He's a looker!=)
**now i feel a bit embarrassed but oh well.....=)

Today is A Combination of Both Feelings and Experiences
Have you ever been so....baffuled that all you could do was hit something...but you can't?
I was rushed with an aray of emotions today when I learned that my brother was jumped(of course he was fine)down the street from our house. Imagine my heart sinking; my partner in crime being hit in the jaw.
Never in my life have I wanted more to have been born a boy....no...A man!!! Believe me there have been times; the advantages: the ability to build muscle easily(cause working out would take less time), run quicker(or maybe not), to have large hands to clobber foes. NAWWW.....God knew what he was doing when he made me a girl------Natural born fighter------that's what he saw. He knew that if THIS CHILD was a boy, he would fight everything, fear nothing and no one; he knew that once angry only the Hulk could be anywhere near as close to my destruction. It's a dangerous thing to have the existance of a nonfearing, no challenge too big and no foe too clumbersome type of person. Oh yeah he nkew a Fight Cluber when he saw little me; I'm not too much better. However, I DO have an extremely extrodinary high level of self-discipline,patience is growing by the day but as everyone does, I get angry as well and I'm afraid sometimes that the more and more I keep things in. I will one day lash out at someone either not deserving it or someone who does and I might get too comfortable acting on my feelings.
Of course self-discipline and patience comes with the job, after all ----- I am the oldest of three and I naturally feel responsible for everyone. Also, one needs to find self control and patience when the whole house is runned by your opinions. You should maintain a leveled head always, so I try my best but it could be a bad thing.....
How did I deal with this NEWS of my brother?
Well, I could have ran down the street and taken care of the punk but instaed I did what every guy or most guys do to relieve stress-----uhhhmmm...maybe the second to third thing they do.....EXCERSICE!!!!
I pumped iron until my veins were bulging from beneath skin; my veins green like kryptonite brightening with each arm curl. My heart the engine pumping adrenaline like lead through my body and all I could do....was left weights.
